NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Vanderbilt men’s basketball is headed to Oklahoma City for the opening weekend of the NCAA Tournament as the No. 5 seed in the South region. The Commodores will begin their run in March Madness on Thursday.
Vandy will face 12th-seeded McNeese State in the opening round at the Paycom Center. Tipoff is set for 2:15 p.m. on TruTV.
The Commodores enter the Big Dance 26-8 on the season. The 26 wins match the school record for most entering the NCAA Tournament, joining the 2007-08 and 1992-93 squads.
Vanderbilt is making is second consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance and 17th overall. The No. 5 seed is the highest for the Commodores since 2012.
