NASHVILLE – Vanderbilt freshman A.J. Ogilvy was honored as the SEC Freshman of the Week for his efforts against UT Martin for the week of December 24-31.
Ogilvy scored 21 points and grabbed nine rebounds against the Skyhawks on December 29. Ogilvy paced the Commodore scoring effort against UT Martin, and currently leads all freshmen in the SEC in scoring on the season at 19.2 points per game.
Ogilvy has won the award twice so far this season, and the first SEC freshman to win two player of the week awards since Tennessee’s Ramar Smith accomplished the feat last season.
Vanderbilt returns to action Thursday evening against Rice at 7 p.m. in Memorial Gym.
