NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Vanderbilt bowling sophomore Saphyre Nofuente earned a spot on the Conference USA Bowling Performers of the Month Team for February, the league announced Wednesday.
In February, Nofuente’s efforts on the lanes helped the No. 2-ranked Commodores earn a runner-up finish at the Storm Flyer Classic. On Day 2 of the event, she racked up scores of 237, 256, 159, 226 and 224, averaging 220.4 pins per game and securing a fifth-place finish and a spot on the all-tournament first team. It was the Nofuente’s second consecutive all-tournament team honor as she also received second-team honors at the Northeast Classic in January.
Nofuente and the Commodores return to action Friday as they host the Music City Classic over the weekend at the Smyrna Bowling Center.
