The Vanderbilt women’s golf team once again faces a tough field in the fall season, with this week’s test coming at the Stanford Intercollegiate at the Stanford Golf Course. The Commodores, currently ranked ninth in the latest Golfweek rankings, will be one of only three teams from east of the Mississippi River to compete in the event, and the only Southeastern Conference team in the field.

Eighteen holes will be played on Friday through Sunday at the par-71, 6,100-yard layout, with tee times beginning at 8:30 a.m. PT on Friday and Saturday, and 7:30 PT on Sunday.

The Commodores will send senior Marina Alex, juniors Lauren Stratton and Anna Leigh Keith, and freshmen Irina Gabasa and Kendall Martindale. Stratton leads the team with a 71.3 stroke average, which is third-best in the SEC, and Alex has a 72.0 stroke average, which ranks fifth in the Southeastern Conference.

Competing with Vanderbilt this weekend are Stanford, Arizona State, Denver, Kent State, Oklahoma State, Oregon, Oregon State, San Diego State, San Jose State, Southern California, Texas, UC-Davis, UCLA, Virginia, and Washington.
