NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The 20th-ranked Vanderbilt women’s basketball team returns from a nine-day hiatus to play host to 23rd-ranked Old Dominion Sunday at Memorial Gymnasium. The game is scheduled to tip-off at 2 p.m. CT.
The Commodores have only played once in the past 20 days, defeating Lipscomb, 92-37, on Dec. 22. Old Dominion comes to Nashville fresh off a 71-62 victory at Kentucky on Friday night.
Vanderbilt (9-3) is 1-1 against ranked opponents this season, having defeated No. 10 Duke in Nashville days before falling at No. 11 California. The Commodores are led in scoring by senior Liz Sherwood (14.1 ppg) and junior Christina Wirth (13.8 ppg).
Old Dominion (8-3) has won five of its last six. Senior T.J. Jordan (17.4 ppg) returned from an injury Friday to score 22 points against the Wildcats.
Following Sunday’s game, the Commodores will close a five-game homestand on Wednesday, Jan. 2, when South Florida visits Memorial Gym for a 7 p.m. tip-off.
