Scouting the Commodores
No. 22/19 Vanderbilt is off to its second-best start in 10 seasons under Head Coach Melanie Balcomb, while its 9-0 mark is the fourth-best in program history. The Commodores travel to UT Martin coming off a 70-54 win over High Point that saw sophomore guard Christina Foggie score a career-high 26 points, while classmate and fellow guard Jasmine Lister dished out a career-high nine assists. It was the fourth-straight 20-point performance for Foggie, who is now averaging a team high 16.9 points per game. Lister is right behind her with 12.6 ppg, while forward Tiffany Clarke adds 11.9 ppg and center Stephanie Holzer is posting 11.6 ppg. Lister is averaging a team-high 6.0 assists per contest, while Clarke leads the way on the boards with 7.8 rebounds per game. Other players to watch for Vanderbilt include Elan Brown (7.0 ppg, 6.7 rpg) and a pair of freshman guards – Kady Schrann (7.1 ppg) and Maggie Morrison(3.9 apg).

Scouting the Skyhawks
UT Martin will host Vanderbilt with a record of 4-3, coming off a 69-60 loss at Memphis. The Skyhawks have played their last five games on the road, going 2-3 in that stretch (wins at Southern Miss and St. Louis; losses at Purdue, Indiana State and Memphis). Heather Butler and Jasmine Newsome lead the way for the Skyhawks. Butler is coming off a team-high 21 points against Memphis and is averaging 20.7 points per game. Newsome scored 20 against the Tigers and is now posting 19.9 points per game. No other Skyhawk is averaging double-figures for third-year Head Coach Kevin McMillan. Jaclissa Haislip leads the team in rebounds with 6.0 per contest, while Newsome leads the squad in assists with 5.6 per game.

Vanderbilt vs. UT Martin – The Series
This will be the 11th meeting between Vanderbilt and UT Martin, with the Commodores holding a 9-1 edge in the series. After Vanderbilt took the first meeting in 1979-80, the Skyhawks got their only win in the series the next year in Martin. The teams met again in 1981-82 in Nashville before playing twice (home-and-home) in the 1982-83 and 1983-84 campaigns. The teams did not meet again until 2002-03, when the Commodores traveled to Martin and took a victory. The teams met at Memorial Gym in 2009-10 and a season ago. The Commodores took a 72-60 win last year behind 18 points from Gabby Smith. Jasmine Listeradded 13 points and five assists.

Commodores vs. Ohio Valley
Vanderbilt has posted an all-time record of 55-17 against the Ohio Valley Conference, following an 83-51 win over Austin Peay earlier this year. A majority of those match-ups have come against instate foes Austin Peay (14-1), Tennessee State (14-2), Tennessee Tech (6-10) and UT Martin (9-1). The Commodores have also faced Eastern Illinois (2-0), Eastern Kentucky (2-0), Morehead State (2-0) and Murray State (4-3). Vanderbilt has never faced three Ohio Valley members – Jacksonville State, Southeast Missouri State and Southern Illinois-Edwardsville.
