No. 13 Vanderbilt (1-0) heads to Savannah State (1-0) Monday night for a nonconference game at Tiger Arena. Game time is scheduled for 6 p.m. (CT).

The Commodores extended their nonconference home-game winning streak to 44 games by knocking off St. Francis (Pa.), 102-45, last Friday. Four players scored in double figures led by sophomore Carla Thomas who scored a game-high 23 points. Senior forward Ashley Earley posted a double-double with 22 points and 11 rebounds. Sophomore guard Dee Davis had a career-high 21 points against the Red Flash.

Savannah State outscored South Carolina State, 12-6, in overtime to win its first game of the season, 66-60 at home Friday night. Caroline Moore came off the bench to score 18 points including four three-pointers to help the Lady Tigers to the win. Kermetris Hill scored 17 points and grabbed seven rebounds while Fana Wilcott added 10 points. The Lady Tigers shot 34.7 percent from the field and led 27-26 at halftime. Savannah State finished the 2003-04 season, 6-20. Moore is the team’s returning leading scorer. She averaged 12.3 points per game last season.

This will be the second ever meeting between the Commodores at the Lady Tigers. Vanderbilt defeated Savannah State last season, 91-40, in Nashville.

Up next for the Commodores will be Rhode Island in the Vanderbilt Thanksgiving Tournament. VU will also welcome UT-Martin and Siena for the tournament beginning Friday afternoon.
