About the tournament

Vanderbilt has won two of the previous three Monmouth tournaments, 2016 and last year wrapped around a third place finish in 2017.  Vanderbilt has two primary reasons for participating: it gives the Commodores a heavy dose of eastern competition and it has respect for the Monmouth head coach, Karen Grygiel, who was the first woman to commit to Vanderbilt Coach John Williamson when he began the program and was also a three-year teammate of Associate Head Coach Josie Barnes.
