Djery Baptiste to leave Vanderbilt MBB

Vanderbilt junior center Djery Baptiste has decided to focus on his studies and graduate in December from Vanderbilt with a degree in Human Organizational Development and minor in Sociology. Upon graduation, Baptiste plans to continue his athletic career.

“Congratulations to Djery, as we are thrilled he is getting a Vanderbilt degree. He is a sensational young man who is going to be very successful. ” said Drew.

Baptiste played in 64 total games in his Vanderbilt career, making 11 starts and averaging 2.4 points and 2.6 rebounds per game. He scored a career-high 13 points in a win over UNC Asheville and tallied career-highs in points (13) and field goals made (5). He also scored in double figures at South Carolina with 10 points last season.

“I would like to thank Coach Drew and my teammates, the Vanderbilt basketball support staff, and the Commodore Athletic department for everything they have done for me here at Vanderbilt,” said Baptiste. “I look forward to receiving an outstanding degree in December and I am excited about my future endeavors as a student-athlete at another institution.”
