New Orleans Head Coach Monte Towe:

On his team’s overall performance:

“Vanderbilt may be the best team we’ve played so far this season. They’re very tough, especially here on their home floor and to have a chance at the end is big for us. Turnovers hurt us early, and late in the game I think we may have made a few bad decisions, but overall I think this was our best performance all year.”

On Nathaniel Parker

“I thought Nate Parker had a great game for us. He had a double-double and he played 30 minutes and I think that might be a season-high for him. “

On the difference in the game:

“I have to compliment Vanderbilt on the victory. Shan Foster hurt us obviously, especially on 3-pointers, he was 6-12 on threes and that was a factor. And then turnovers, obviously those were a factor. Vanderbilt only had six turnovers and you have to give them credit there and we had 18.  Free throws, too. If a couple go down there in the second half then it might have been a different game, but overall it was our best performance of the year. I’m not satisfied with it and I know there are some hurt guys in the locker room right now, but I don’t know a group that deserves to have a better Christmas than these kids.”

On turnovers:

Every time you turn over the ball you don’t get a shot and they get another shot, so it’s almost like a two-shot difference. Their defensive pressure was good. I think we had 14 turnovers in the first half, so that means we only had four in the second half. In the second half we did a better job and we were doing what we should be doing which is getting a shot almost every time down the floor.”
