NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Vanderbilt women’s golf returns to the course Monday at the FAU Paradise Invitational in Boca Raton, Florida. Hosted at the Osprey Point Golf Club, the Commodores look to rekindle the magic of last year’s event where they won by 25 strokes.
“We are all super pumped to get the spring season underway,” head coach Greg Allen said. “The offseason was nice, but we are ready to get back into competitive golf again.”
Vanderbilt comes off a fall season where it won one tournament—the Mason Rudolph Championship—and finished in the top four at three more. The team will compete in four regular season competitions before postseason play this spring.
The Paradise Invitational field consists of 13 teams: BYU, Denver, East Carolina, Florida Atlantic, Florida International, Indiana, Iowa, Notre Dame, Rutgers, South Florida, UTSA, Vanderbilt and Wisconsin.
Vanderbilt will feature graduate Celina Sattelkau, senior Virginie Ding, sophomores Lynn Lim and Tillie Claggett, and freshman Sara Im in the lineup. Freshmen Ava Merrill and Macie Brown are slated to compete as individuals in the tournament.
“We want to manage our expectations this week and really focus on the process of hitting good shots and trusting ourselves on the greens,” Allen said.
The Commodores will tee off in a shotgun start at 7 a.m. CT each day, playing 36 holes on Monday and a final 18 on Tuesday.
