An upgraded Training Room within the McGugin Center will help keep all 325 Vanderbilt student-athletes in top competitive form by supporting injury prevention and recovery. At a projected 9,200 square feet, the new Training Room doubles our capacity to treat student-athletes effectively. The new space includes three hydrotherapy pools, modernized equipment, and increases in the number of treatment tables, taping stations, and cardio equipment. With this renovation, our Training Room will rank among the best training facilities in the SEC.
Funding for this project depends solely on philanthropic contributions. We are striving to reach the philanthropic goal of $6.5 million by November 2013 for presentation to the Vanderbilt Board of Trust for approval. If approved, construction could begin as early as the conclusion of the 2013 football season.
