NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Jeffery Taylor scored a season-high 21 points to go along with his nine rebounds but it wasn’t enough to top Western Kentucky as the Hilltoppers knocked off the No. 24 Commodores, 76-69 at the Nashville Arena on Friday night. With the loss, Vanderbilt falls to 6-3 on the year while Western Kentucky improves to 5-3.
The Commodores held a slim 38-37 lead at the halftime break but were outscored 39-31 in the second half.
Vanderbilt had just two players score in double figures on Friday led by Taylor with 21 while Beal chipped in 12 points.
The Hilltoppers outrebounded the Commodores 40-31 in the game, including 23-10 in the second half.
