Sept. 7, 2011
This is a first in a series of three topics that will be covered at the Coaches Clinic on October 1st. Shooting and the art of the jumpshot.
Vanderbilt fans have seen their fair share of good shooters in Memorial Gym in the last few years, but have they ever wondered, “how did they learned to shoot like that?”
Coaches also often wonder, no matter the level, how to maximize their players’ ability when it comes to shooting. It is an art and a science, and finding the perfect mix between the two is every coaches’ challenge.
Vanderbilt’s basketball staff, who is hosting their Second Annual Coaches’ Clinic on October 1st, has put together this checklist together for proper shooting technique, and at the clinic on October 1st, will demonstrate to everyone how to give their players the tools and know-how to shoot like Matt Freije, Derrick Byars, Dan Cage, and Shan Foster.
If you’re a basketball coach in the middle Tennessee area, make arrangements to be at Memorial – entire staffs are welcome. Details and sign up information are available at the link above.
