Martindale wins Tennessee Open

July 27, 2011

Vanderbilt signee and rising freshman Kendall Martindale captured the Tennessee Open this past weekend with a record-setting, ten-under par, 206, at the Stonehenge Golf Club in Crossville, Tenn. Martindale became the youngest winner to capture the Open, the first amateur since Vanderbilt’s Sara Jacobs to win the tournament, and also became the first woman to capture the Tennessee Amateur and the Tennessee Open in the same year.

Martindale, from Jefferson City, defeated Alabama standout and Chattanooga native Brooke Pancake by one stroke to win the title.
