Marina Alex leads Pac 10-SEC's

Junior Marina Alex fired a one-under par, 70, in her second round at the Pac 10-SEC Challenge and now has the individual lead at the tournament with a six-under par, 136, heading into the final round at the Stanford Golf Course in Palo Alto, Calif. As a team, the Commodores are in 12th place with a total of 593 (291-302).

Alex, who trailed Cal’s Joanne Lee by a stroke heading into Saturday’s round, now leads Lee by two strokes and Auburn’s Cydney Clanton by one heading into the final round. The junior from Wayne, N.J., had five birdies, four bogeys, and nine pars in her round Saturday.

Alex is gunning for her second individual title – her one medalist honor came in the 2010 SEC Championships in Tuscaloosa.

UCLA is at the top of the team leaderboard with a two-under par, 566 (285-281), nine strokes better than second-place Auburn and Alabama.
