NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Cornell graduate transfer Chris Manon has signed with Vanderbilt, head coach Mark Byington announced on Thursday.
A unanimous All-Ivy League selection as a senior, Manon averaged 12.5 points, 4.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game in 22.2 minutes per game this season for the Big Red. The 6-foot-5 guard shot 56.2 percent from the floor and 33.8 percent from beyond the arc. Manon also led the Ivy in steals per game at 2.17 and ranked 24th nationally.
“Chris exudes toughness, confidence and competitiveness,” said Byington. “He was very effective at Cornell, earning All-Conference honors, and I love his versatility. He can play four positions and be successful at all of them.”
Manon closed the 2023-24 season with 12-straight games of double-figure scoring, including a career-best 25 points against Dartmouth in 26 minutes on Feb. 17. He began the streak with a 16-point, 11-rebound double-double against Princeton. He also produced three-or-more assists in 20 games as a senior.
Manon played three seasons for the Big Red, appearing in 83 games with 58 starts over his career. The Ivy League did not play during the 2020-21 season due to COVID-19. Manon has averaged 11.2 points per game over his career in just 20 minutes of action.
As a junior, Manon averaged 11.0 points, 3.6 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 2.3 steals per contest. He set the Cornell school record with 63 steals and ranked 17th in the country in steals per game. He also provided a stellar performance with 18 points and six assists in 20 minutes at ACC Champion and Final Four participant Miami in 2022.
A native of New Milford, N.J., Manon comes to Vandy as a graduate student with one season of eligibility.
