Vanderbilt junior forward Luke Kornet has been named to the The 2016 College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-Districtâ„¢ for his combined exploits athletically and in the classroom. Kornet, from Lantana, Texas, who was also named to the 2015 team, is a Computer Science and Mathematics major with a 3.66 GPA.
Kornet, who has played in 19 games this season and is averaging 9.8 points and 7.6 rebounds per game, is also one of the nation’s top shot blockers at 3.0 blocks per contest. Kornet joins Grayson Allen of Duke, Marcus Paige of North Carolina, and Evan Bradds and Craig Bradshaw of Belmont on the District Three team.
First-team Academic All-Districtâ„¢ honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® Team ballot, where first-, second- and third-team All-America honorees will be selected later this month.
