Vanderbilt sophomore Christine Luce has been named to the All-Central Region for her performance during the program’s inaugural season by the National Tenpin Coaches Association.

Luce, a native of San Antonio, Tex., (East Central High School) averaged 163 over 49 games.  Last month she was one of four Commodores named as an Academic All-America.  She had a perfect 4.0 grade point average spring semester as a Childhood Studies major.

During the 2004-05 season, Luce rolled four competitive games over 200 with a team high of 219.  Her best tournament finish was 11th at the Music City/Columbia Classic.

“I am very pleased that our program would be recognized in its first year with a representative on the all-region team,” says Coach John Williamson.  “Christine is deserving of the distinction because she had an all-around outstanding year on the lanes and in the classroom.  We are proud of her hard work and accomplishments.”

The National Tenpin Coaches Association is an organization representing the coaches of NCAA women’s varsity bowling.

The NTCA was formed to highlight the accomplishments of women bowlers at all three NCAA Division levels and to serve as a clearinghouse for information related to women’s varsity bowling.
