  • She recorded 19 kills to go with 11 digs vs. the Anteaters, good for her first double-double of the season
  • The Vanderbilt offense totaled 65 kills, with three student-athletes reaching double digits
  • Jackie Moore, who took 29 swings and did not make a single error, tallied 12 kills on the night
  • On defense, three Dores recorded double-digit digs, holding UC Irvine to a .193 hitting percentage
  • Reese Animashaun led the charge with 17 digs, and Hailee Mack contributed 15 digs

SCOUTING THE LONGHORNS

  • Wednesday’s match will be the first recorded meeting between the Commodores and Longhorns
  • Texas is undefeated (8-0) to start the 2025 season with seven wins over ranked teams
  • The Longhorns made several notable additions to their roster this season, including Pitt transfer and 2024 AVCA first-team All-American Torrey Stafford and Cari Spears, the 2024 Texas Gatorade Player of the Year
  • Stafford was named to the AVCA Player of the Year Preseason Watch List
  • Stafford, Spears, setter Ella Swindle and libero Emma Halter have been tabbed for SEC Weekly awards so far this season
  • Jerritt Elliott has led Texas to three NCAA titles (2012, ’22, ’23) and 23 NCAA tournament berths in 25 seasons as the Longhorns’ head coach
  • In their first season in the SEC, Texas finished second in the conference with 20-7 overall and 13-3 SEC records

SCOUTING THE AGGIES

  • Texas A&M and Vanderbilt will be meeting for the first time Friday at Reed Arena
  • The Aggies have gotten off to an 8-2 start with ranked wins over No. 11 Minnesota and No. 21 Utah
  • Texas A&M’s only losses this season have come against top 15 teams SMU and TCU
  • The Aggies will play their first conference matchup vs. Missouri on Wednesday before facing the Commodores on Friday
  • Jamie Morrison, who is in his third season as head coach, has led the Maroon & White to two NCAA Tournament appearances and the Sweet Sixteen in 2024
  • Logan Lednicky and Ifenna Cos-Okpalla were both tabbed preseason All-SEC and were named to the AVCA Player of the Year Preseason Watch List
  • As a junior, Lednicky powered the Aggies’ offense, recording 492 kills, ranked No. 3 in program history, and averaging 4.47 kills per set, ranked No. 2 in Texas A&M history

TEXAS TIES

  • Six Vandy volleyball players, coaches and staff are from the state of Texas: Reese Animashaun (Houston), Sydney Bryant (Richmond), Taylor Porter (Cypress), defensive coordinator Russell Corbelli (College Station), assistant coach Azhani Tealer (Dallas) and director of operations Kim Williams (College Station)
  • Both Vanderbilt and Texas’ volleyball programs are newcomers in the SEC. The Longhorns made their SEC debut in 2024, while the Commodores are returning to the volleyball scene in 2025 for the first time since 1980
  • Corbelli and Williams are graduates of Texas A&M and worked with the Aggie volleyball program before coming to Vanderbilt
  • Russell’s parents, Laurie and John, served as the Texas A&M volleyball head and associate head coach for 25 seasons, during which time the duo led the Aggies to 20 NCAA tournament berths, including two Elite Eights and six Sweet Sixteens
