Solid Start in 2023-24
Vanderbilt won the Warhawk Classic in Madison three weeks ago and was third in Orlando two weeks ago. There have been a number of individual bright spots, starting with the strong return of All-American Paige Peters. The junior missed much of last season with a variety of ailments, but she won the Warhawk and missed winning in Orlando by two pins. Except for a 7-10 split, Peters didn’t have an open frame and was rewarded by being named the first-ever Conference USA Bowler of the Month. Freshman Haley Lindley was sharp in the leadoff role, placing fourth in Orlando.

Last Year’s Memorable Event
The Commodores made it interesting here a year ago. On Friday, the Dores began with four consecutive 1,100-pin games–three of the best five Baker Games in program history—and capped it with a 300 game by Mabel Cummins, Caroline Thesier, Alyssa Ballard, Peters and Victoria Varano.

Ballard then won the individual championship Saturday with a 234.6 average and a high game of 268.

The team finished second Sunday, losing some momentum after two red-hot days.
