Katie Antony to Leave Vanderbilt Women’s Basketball Team
4/5/2005 NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Vanderbilt head women’s basketball coach Melanie Balcomb has granted guard Katie Antony a requested release from the team. The sophomore from Anacoco, La. played in 30 games for the Commodores during the 2004-05 season garnering 15 starts. Antony averaged 19.7 minutes per game and 5.1 points per game. Antony also recorded 84 rebounds and averaged 2.8 rebounds per game. In two seasons at Vanderbilt, she started 29-of-62 games and registered 1,179 minutes. She connected on 98-of-248 field goals while shooting 39.4 percent from the field. She averaged 4.4 points per game. She scored a career-high 14 points against Kentucky as a freshman. “We’ve appreciated Katie’s contributions to the program while she was here. She’s been a good player for us who’s given us a lot of minutes in her two years. We wish her all the best in the future,” Balcomb said. |
