300earnest72313.jpgToday was a rough day! I started off the day with a 182 with one open that was a split, but it could have been much worse. I couldn’t get my swing relaxed enough to make quality shots out of the gate.

After one game I decided to switch balls and go to something that was going to be close to the pocket, but wouldn’t necessarily strike a lot. I was able to stay clean and consistent for the rest of the day. My low game for the day was 182 and my high game was a 235 for an eight game block of 1608 (plus 8). This score should keep me around the top 10, which will keep me inside the first cut line.

In order for me to be successful, I am going to have to continue to make great first shots and take care of the spares I can pick up. If there’s one thing I learned in college bowling that has helped this week it is how important it is to close frames. Hopefully tomorrow I can just continue to do the simple things that give me a great opportunity for success.
