John Krause Named Missouri Valley Soccer Player of the Week 9/6/2005 Nashville, Tenn. – Senior forward John Krause was named the Missouri Valley Conference Offensive Player of the Week after leading Vanderbilt to a pair of wins last weekend. The Commodores captured the Aaron Olitsky Memorial Soccer Classic tournament championship behind Krause’s four goal performance in the two games. The Holliston, Mass., native scored three goals, including the game winner in overtime against Georgia State last Friday and scored the lone tally in VU’s 1-0 win over College of Charleston on Saturday. He was named the tournament’s MVP for his efforts. It is the second weekly honor for Krause who earned the plaudit on Sept. 20 of last year. The preseason All-MVC first team pick is among the nation’s leading scorers entering this weekend’s action. He is also listed on College Soccer News National Team Of The Week which highlights the top individual performers of the week from across the country. |
