Joe Germanese Named Missouri Valley Player of the Week 9/27/2005 Nashville, Tenn. — Sophomore Joe Germanese was named Missouri Valley Conference Offensive Player of the Week the conference office announced today. Germanese had his best offensive day in a Commodore uniform, leading Vanderbilt to a 4-3 win over No. 25 Memphis Saturday night. The Ballwin, Mo., native scored two goals and had two assists, including one on the game-winning goal as VU defeated a ranked team for the second time in three matches. This is the second conference player of the week award for the team as senior John Krause received the honor on Sept. 6. Vanderbilt (4-3) will be back in action at home this Friday against Denver at 7 p.m. |
