Hey, Joe! Can you share your thoughts and observations of the path this football program will take toward success from this point forward? With a clearly committed head coach, fan support improving and administration support making significant strides, what else must happen? How can we help?

I think our program and administration have shown clearly that Vanderbilt is committed not only to competing, but winning in football. I hope we can continue to improve our gameday experiences and support.The fan atmosphere for the South Carolina game here was outstanding. I’d love for us to reach the point where that was the norm and not the exception.
The continued growth of Vandyville, and more fans coming early, tailgating and staying late after enhances the program and the players and coaches are thrilled by the increased support. Reach out to long time fans that fell away from our program and invite them to get involved again. I also encourage if you haven’t done so to become a member of the National Commodore Club. NCC membership benefits all of our athletic programs, and can also provide great benefits for you.
Do you think we could see more packages featuring Brian Kimbrow in the future? And also do you see Warren Norman getting any playing time barring injury to any of the running backs ahead of him on the depth chart? Thanks

I think as Brian Kimbrow gets more touches and more experience you’ll likely see more packages designed to utilize his great speed. He got a shot at kickoff return last week, and I would assume you’ll continue to see that grow.The questions regarding Warren Norman continue, but it appears right now that as it stands at the moment Stacy, Kimbrow and Tate are all ahead of him on the depth chart.
Several players have tweeted that we need to pray for Kenny Ladler. I never saw that he was hurt during the game, nor did the Big Ten Network mention it. Is he hurt, and if so how bad? The tweets sound ominous.

Kenny left the game in the fourth quarter at Northwestern and didn’t return. I have seen him on the practice field this week and he will be fine. Coach Franklin has said if he absolutely had to play this week he could, but they have opted to hold him out so he’ll be 100 percent when he returns.
Joe you do a great job and in the past I’ve enjoyed your radio broadcasts until it aired on WLAC AM. Whoever made that decision made a bad choice because there is so much static you can barely hear what is being broadcasted. Am I the only one complaining? Is there a chance of getting back on the FM channel? If not, you lose me as a listener. Go Dores!

I appreciate you being there and your kind words. I was very excited that we signed our five-year deal to make WLAC our flagship station. There are always challenges regarding on-air signals, even with FM stations. I can tell you that we will always continue to strive to provide the best possible product for our fans through our network. I can also tell you that the decision to partner with WLAC was, in my opinion, by far our best option and I’m very pleased with it. I hope you’ll keep listening.
Why don’t we include passing to the tight end in our offense?

Atop the depth chart has been the wily veteran Austin Monahan and a bunch of new younger players who in many ways are still learning the position and the college game. I think for the most part the focus has been on that position for blocking and pass protection. Steven Scheu made his first start last week, and along with Dillon van der Wal and the converted quarterback Kris Kentera, I think it’s a position with a lot of potential for versatility. I would also anticipate seeing things open up a bit in that direction soon.
