Vanderbilt rising-junior guard John Jenkins was named the Tennessee Sports Writer Association’s men’s basketball player of the year for the 2010-11 season in a vote of association members.
Jenkins, the SEC’s leading scorer, led the league in scoring averaging 19.5 points and led the conference in 3-pointers made per game. Jenkins averaged 1.2 assists and shot 40.8 percent from the 3-point line.
