Vanderbilt senior forward James Siakam has been named to the 2015 SEC Community Service Team for his work in the Nashville and Vanderbilt communities.

Siakam, one of Vanderbilt’s team captains this season, is a constant volunteer at the Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital and the Stallworth Rehabilitation Hospital on campus, and is a member of Leading through Reading, an organization to improve literacy and to expand access to educational opportunities for vulnerable communities through the building, restoring, and supporting of community libraries and educational centers.

He is also a volunteer with the Dismas House of Nashville, an organization that helps former criminal offenders find supportive services, obtain jobs and become full and successful participants in the larger society.
