Welcome to the new VUcommodores.com!

Vanderbilt’s athletics department, in conjunction with CBS Interactive and IMG College, unveiled the latest version of the official athletics website Wednesday.

The fully-responsive site enables users to seamlessly view VUcommodores.com from their desktop, tablet or mobile device. Providing a user-friendly website that can be viewed across all platforms was a high priority with this latest version of VUcommodores.com.

In addition to focusing on how the website is viewed on mobile, VUcommodores.com maintains many of the same features from its previous version. As always, news, schedules, rosters and statistics remain the bedrock of the website.

Once again, the new VUcommodores.com has put an emphasis on Vanderbilt’s great photography and graphic design by including images with every headline on the homepage and sport homepages. A noticeable change is also in the number of headlines displayed. Instead of having one main headline at the top with six secondary stories below, there are now three headlines above the fold with nine additional headlines below that. The increase in headlines will allow for a longer news cycle and give users more time to catch up on stories they may have missed.

Between the top headlines and the secondary headlines is the calendar, which maintains the same links for live stats, audio, video and more. The calendar section also includes the ability for users to view the full athletics calendar and download sport-specific calendars to Google, Exchange, Apple, Yahoo and Outlook.

Moving down the page, visitors will find the “Videos” section, where all the latest videos can be found in a sleek, responsive hub.

Below the “Videos” section is the “Get Social” hub where the latest tweets, Facebook and Instagram posts can be viewed. The bottom of the page is the “Vanderbilt Team Store” and promotional area, featuring some of the department’s graphic design elements.

In the coming days, there may be a few broken links or navigational elements that are still being worked through, so bear with us as we make the full transition. We hope you enjoy the redesigned VUcommodores.com as much as we do.
