LAS VEGAS, Nev. – Brittni Hamilton finished in 16th place to lead a quintet of Vanderbilt bowlers at the 2009 Team USA Tournament here Friday. The Webster, N.Y., sophomore had the best day of any Commodore and improved her standing accordingly.
The rest of the Vandy representatives in this non-collegiate tournament struggled over Friday’s tough lane conditions and even tougher comptition. Two-time Team USA member Brenda Edwards averaged an impressive 219.1 to pull away from the women’s field of 56. Hamilton averaged 203.8.
Jessica Earnest placed 24th, two spots above her sister Josie. Amanda Halter was 32nd and Kim Carper 34th.
