The Vanderbilt women’s golf team finished the second round of the SEC Championship at the Greystone Golf and Country Club in Birmingham, Ala., with a total of 613 (304-311), which is good for 12th place in the team standings. Senior Jennifer Hahn led the Commodores on Saturday with a second-round 74.
“Well, so far it just hasn’t been our week,” said Vanderbilt head coach Greg Allen. “I love the effort and the attitude, but unfortunately, we’re just not scoring well. We haven’t hit it that poorly, but we have really struggled on the greens. Tomorrow is a new day, and we want to win that day and see if we can move the leader board.”
The Commodores also counted a 76 from sophomore Alexandra Farnsworth, and 77’s from junior Kate Sborov, sophomore Cindy Ha, and freshman Courtney Zeng on Saturday.
Alabama and Florida share the team lead with each registering a two-round score of 578. Maria Torres of Florida has a six-shot lead on all other individuals with a seven-under par, 137 (69-68).
The final round of the SEC Championship concludes on Sunday.
