The number three ranked Vanderbilt women’s golf team fired a second-round total of 291 on Monday at the ANNIKA Intercollegiate in Orlando at the Reunion Country Club’s Watson Course. Vanderbilt is in a tie for 11th on the team leader board with a team total of 591 (300-291).
Junior Jennifer Hahn and sophomore Antonia Scherer each carded a one-under, 71, on Tuesday to lead Vanderbilt. Scherer is the Commodores’ two-round leader on the individual leader board and is in a tie for 12th.
Commodore Scores
Other counters for the Commodores included freshman Cindy Ha, who carded an even-par, 72, and senior Irina Gabasa, who tallied a five-over, 77. Senior Kendall Martindale shot a six-over, 78, on Monday.
Tournament Leaders
South Carolina has a one-shot lead on the field over Arizona and currently stands at four-under par, 572 (282-290) for the tournament. The Gamecocks’ Justine Dreher is the individual leader after her second consecutive 68 Monday. She is at eight-under par, 136, two strokes better than Duke’s Leona Maguire.
Head Coach Greg Allen Comments
“From a scoring standpoint, it was a better day,” said Allen. “It had a chance to be a really good scoring day if we could’ve had a better fourth score. I felt like a couple of our girls got away from the process today. It will be back to the basics tomorrow starting with a positive attitude and a focus from start to finish.”
