Second Round Results
Sophomore Cindy Ha carded five birdies and no bogeys in route to a second-round 67 to lead the Commodores at the Mason Rudolph Championship at the Vanderbilt Legends Club. Vanderbilt moved up three places on the team leaderboard and is in eighth-place after firing a second-round team total of two-under par, 286, on Saturday.
Ha birdied the sixth, eighth, 10th, 14th, and 18th in her round on Saturday and has a two-round score of 144 (77-67) and is 25th on the individual leader board, which leads all Commodore starters. Freshman Courtney Zeng, who is playing as an individual, leads all Vanderbilt players with a two-round total of 142 (69-73) and is in a tie for 13th.
Besides Ha’s 67, the Commodores also counted a one-under 71 from senior Jennifer Hahn, a 73 from junior Kate Sborov, and a 75 from sophomore Alexandra Farnsworth.
“Anytime you have the opportunity to count two scores under par and one being a 67, you’re gonna have a chance to post a decent number,” said Vanderbilt head coach Greg Allen. “I thought the girls had a great mindset early on and that allowed us to make some birdies early in he round. We took advantage of the par 5s today’s and that’s important when there’s five of them. I thought we played smart and looked very comfortable out there.”
Georgia stormed to the top of the leader board after shooting a 13-under par, 275, on the day. The Bulldogs lead second-place Alabama by one shot heading into the final round Sunday.
The Crimson Tide’s Lakareber Abe leads all individuals with a two-round score of 135 (67-68), two shots better than Virginia’s Lauren Coughlin.
The third and final round of the Mason Rudolph Championship concludes on Sunday on the South Course of the Vanderbilt Legends Club.
