7/11/2006 FORT LAUDERDALE, FL — Vanderbilt’s Karen Grygiel was in ninth place Monday in a field of approximately 436 after the first day of the United States Junior Gold Championships in Fort Lauderdale. The annual event draws the top male and female bowlers in the nation and is probably considered the top amateur tournament of the year. Several other Commodores are poised to make the field’s first cut, including Mandy Keily, Michelle Peloquin, Kaitlyn Reynolds and incoming freshman Josie Earnest.
