Heidi Gillingham Jackson became the third former Vanderbilt women’s basketball player inducted into the Vanderbilt Athletics Hall of Fame on Saturday.
The Texas native led the Commodores to an SEC Championship and their only Final Four berth in 1993. She was named a Kodak First-Team All-American the same year. Gillingham holds six Vanderbilt records, including an SEC record 131 blocks in one season (1991-92).
Gillingham was a three-time first team All-SEC selection (1992, 93, 94), led the SEC in field-goal percentage for three years and was named the 1993 Vanderbilt Homecoming Queen. She was also inducted into the Tennessee Sports Hall of Fame in 2000.
Gillingham joins former Vanderbilt women’s basketball players Chantelle Anderson and Wendy Scholtens Wood in the Vanderbilt Athletics Hall of Fame.
