Get to know: Morrison

nadinendip330wide1112preseason.jpgVanderbilt’s women’s basketball team has three newcomers on its 2011-12 roster. Last week, VUCommodores introduced Maggie Morrison, a 5’8″ guard from Millersville, Md. Monday, we introduce you to Nadine Ndip, a 5’8″ guard from Spring, Texas.

Ndip (pronounced In-Dip) walked on to the team this past summer and will provide depth at point guard. This is her second year on campus, but Ndip has freshman eligibility.

Favorite professional basketball player: Kobe Bryant

Age I picked up basketball: 7

I picked my jersey number because: It used to be my number when I first started

A few words that describe the way I play basketball: Scrappy, hungry, hustle

What I need to improve on to be a better player: Shooting, attacking the rim, and dribbling

Favorite sport other than basketball: Wakeboarding

Favorite thing about myself: I’m generally a very happy person

Favorite thing to do away from basketball: Go to the lake

My advice to young people is: Dreams do come true, so never give up
