Podcast: David Williams

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Of the many aspects of his job as athletics director at Vanderbilt, David Williams perhaps enjoyed graduation most of all. Williams, who passed away last Friday at 71, spent 15 years in charge of the Commodores’ athletic department. Amid four national championships and more than 19 conference titles, Williams always prided himself on watching student-athletes obtain their degrees at Vanderbilt.

In memory of Williams, VUCommodores.com has revisited a conversation on the Commodore Insider Podcast with the former Vanderbilt athletics director from May 10, 2018. In the conversation, Williams describes why graduation is his favorite time of the year and what it means to see student-athletes get the most out of their experience at Vanderbilt.
