Garland, Shittu named McDonald's All-Americans

Jan. 16, 2018

Vanderbilt signees Darius Garland and Simisola Shittu were named to the McDonald’s All-American Team on Tuesday, becoming the first two Commodore selections to be named to the team.  Garland, from Brentwood, Tenn., will participate on the East team in Atlanta on March 28 at Phillips Arena, while Shittu, from Burlington, Ontario, Canada, will play for the West team.

Garland and Shittu, two consensus five-star players by most recruiting services, will be the second and third McDonald’s All-Americans to don a Commodore uniform.  Billy McCaffrey was a 1989 McDonalds’ All-American before signing with Duke, who then transferred to Vanderbilt after his sophomore season.
