COLUMBIA, S.C. – Collin Murray-Boyles scored a career-high 31 points to lead No. 15/20 South Carolina past Vanderbilt, 75-60, on Saturday afternoon at Colonial Life Arena.
Tyrin Lawrence led the Commodores (6-17, 1-9 SEC) with 15 points, reaching double figures for the 13th-straight game. Ven-Allen Lubin added 13 points while Paul Lewis scored eight for the second-consecutive game.
Along with Murray-Boyles’ career day, B.J. Mack scored 18 points to lead South Carolina (21-3, 9-2 SEC) in the come-from-behind win. Murray-Boyles and Mack combined to score 32 points in the second half.
Vanderbilt led 32-28 at the break behind 46-percent shooting from the field and a 4-of-9 performance beyond the arc. South Carolina responded out of the half, going on an 8-0 run to retake the lead. The Gamecocks shot 56-percent in the second half to pull away down the stretch.
South Carolina held a 31-26 advantage on the boards and recorded an assist on 21-of-30 made baskets.
The Commodores return home on Tuesday, to host Texas A&M in a 6 p.m. tip on ESPNU.
