What you need to know before visiting Memorial Gymnasium in 2023-24

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Fans attending Vanderbilt basketball games this season should be prepared for alterations to game day at Memorial Gymnasium including road closures, parking availability and gate access. Additionally, a number of fan experience enhancements await Commodore Nation inside Memorial this basketball season.

All information is subject to change. For the latest updates on construction and its impacts on basketball patrons, visit the appropriate men’s and women’s game day pages on VUCommodores.com.

TRAFFIC AND PARKING

As construction continues around Memorial Gymnasium, several roads and pedestrian pathways will be impacted on game day. Jess Neely Drive remains closed and is inaccessible to vehicular traffic. A pedestrian-only path is available connecting Natchez Trace and 25th Avenue.

26th Avenue South and Kensington Place are inaccessible from Natchez Trace to both vehicles and pedestrians. A section of Natchez Trace also remains closed between Kensington Place and Jess Neely Drive. Fans with parking passes for Kensington Garage must access the garage via 25th Avenue South.

The 25th Avenue entrances to the 25th Avenue and West Garages are closed as construction continues between Jess Neely Drive and Blakemore Avenue. Fans can access the 25th Avenue Garage through entrances on either Highland Avenue or 24th Avenue while the West Garage is accessible from either 24th Avenue or Children’s Way. With Lot 71 impacted by construction, all ADA parking will be in the 25th Avenue Garage.

Single-game parking is available in the 25th Avenue Garage free of charge for women’s basketball games. Parking for men’s basketball is available for $10 at nonconference and $15 for conference games when purchased in advance. Vehicles without a pre-purchased parking pass will be charged $20 for nonconference and $30 for conference games.

ENTRANCE TO MEMORIAL GYMNASIUM

Fans should plan to arrive early and allow extra time to enter Memorial Gymnasium during the 2023-24 season. Gates 1, 3, 6 and 11 will be open for all basketball games. ADA access is available through Gate 11.

Gate 9 is unavailable for entry as the Hawkins Field main gate is closed due to construction. Fans who previously entered through the Hawkins Field gates should enter through Gates 1, 3, or 6.

Gate 10, the student entrance for men’s basketball, is also closed due to construction. Students should enter through a dedicated portion of Gate 3.

NEW TO MEMORIAL

An enhanced game day experience awaits individuals inside Memorial Gymnasium this season including a new center-hung videoboard. The new display features four main screens and a lower ring facing each of the four seating areas. Each main display is 29’ x 11’ in size, making the screens 25-percent larger than the previous videoboard. Colors are also 35-percent brighter on the newly installed board.

Fans will also have access to the Foster and Brown Sensory Room which was opened in partnership with KultureCity. The sensory room provides a safe and quiet environment for fans needing accommodation.

New concessions offerings are also headed to Memorial Gymnasium. Daddy’s Dogs will be available at all home basketball games while Puckett’s BBQ will be available during SEC play. Fans can also enjoy pours from Jackalope Brewing Company all season long.

Finally, fans will notice a new way to interact and showcase their Commodore spirit with PostUp. The new platform allows fans to upload their photos before and during games for a chance to be displayed on the videoboard.
