Oct. 14, 2010

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Vanderbilt is one of two schools in the SEC that will take part in the inaugural Super Six Series Women’s Basketball Challenge, which features teams from the ACC, Big East, Big 12, Big Ten, Pac-10 and the SEC.

Vanderbilt’s game at Florida State on Nov. 21 is part of the initial Super Six Series. The other SEC team participating in the series is Auburn, who will host Duke on Nov. 18.

Two schools from each of the six participating conferences were chosen to play in the series, which includes six games that will be played during the first two weeks of the season each year.

Vanderbilt’s game at Florida State will be a matchup between two NCAA Tournament teams from last year. Florida State advanced to the NCAA Elite Eight, while the Commodores advanced to the second round. The Seminoles return two starters from last year’s squad.
