Vanderbilt’s Shan Foster has been named to the All-District IV team by the United States Basketball Writer’s Association. District IV includes the states of Kentucky, Tennessee, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia and Florida.

The 6-6, 200-pound sophomore swingman from Kenner, La., has led the Commodore offensive attack all season and ranks fifth among the Southeastern Conference’s top scorers averaging 16.3 points.

Foster also ranks among the league leaders in 3-pointers made per game (second with 3.07) and 3-point shooting (third at 42.3 percent) for all games.

During SEC play, Foster ranked second in the league in 3-pointer made per game (3.19), was second in 3-point shooting (44.0 percent) and was seventh in scoring (16.8 ppg).

Foster has scored 10 or more points in 19 of the last 20 games, averaging 17.3 points while shooting 45.0 percent from the field and 42.2 percent from 3-point range during the stretch.

Vanderbilt plays Auburn in the first round of the SEC Tournament Thursday at 6:30 p.m. CT. The four-day tournament takes place at the Gaylord Entertainment Center in Nashville.
