In addition to the Gators visiting, one of the more popular halftime acts will be at Memorial Gym on Thursday – The Red Panda Acrobat. If you need a refresher on her act, check out this visit to Ohio State in 2009.

Scouting The Commodores
No. 24 Vanderbilt will take another shot at its 13th consecutive 20-win season when Florida visits Memorial Gym. Sophomore guard Christina Foggie leads the Commodores and the Southeastern Conference in scoring at 18.1 points per game. She is coming off consecutive 22-point, six-rebound performances against No. 11/11 Tennessee and No. 21/20 Georgia. Foggie is third in the nation in three-point shooting at 44.4%. Following her are a trio of players averaging better than 11.0 ppg. Point guard Jasmine Lister is posting 11.9 points per contest while dishing out an SEC-best 5.8 assist per game. Junior forward Tiffany Clarke is averaging 11.6 points and 7.2 rebounds per game, while redshirt sophomore center Stephanie Holzer is posting 11.4 points per outing and matching Clarke’s 7.2 rebounds per contest. Vanderbilt’s 76-63 loss at No. 21/20 Georgia snapped a five-game winning streak for Vanderbilt that saw them defeat a pair of ranked teams (No. 17/15 Georgia and No. 11/11 Tennessee) along the way.

Scouting The Gators
Florida visits Music City coming off a 62-58 loss at South Carolina, a defeat that snapped a three-game winning streak (at LSU, Ole Miss and Auburn). The Gators are led by Jennifer George and Jordan Jones, who are posting 12.7 and 11.5 points per game, respectively. George also leads the team in rebounding at 9.1 per game, a mark which is second in the SEC. She is coming off a double-double in the loss to the Gamecocks (17 points, 10 rebounds). The offense runs predominately through Lanita Bartley, who averages 3.6 assists per game. As a team, Florida is second in the SEC in rebounding margin, at +5.4, and offensive rebounds, at 18.3 per game.

Vanderbilt vs. Florida – The Series
Thursday’s match-up is the 50th meeting between Florida and Vanderbilt, with the Commodores holding a 30-19 edge in the series. The teams have met every year since 1978-79. The teams met twice last year, with the road team wining each contest. Vanderbilt took an epic 103-97 double-overtime win in Gainesville behind 23 points each from Stephanie Holzer and Tiffany Clarke, before Florida got revenge in Nashville with a 74-69 win that snapped a seven-game Vandy winning streak in the series. Melanie Balcomb is 11-4 against the Gators since arriving on West End and Vanderbilt leads the series 15-6 at Memorial Gym.
