About the opponent: Ole Miss
- After falling to No.15 LSU [68-64] and Mississippi State [70-59], the Rebels defeated Texas A&M on Thursday, 74-54.
- Ole Miss was ranked inside the top-25 but after falling in back-to-back games, the Rebels dropped out of the rankings and are not receiving votes.
- After dropping the season opener vs. Belmont back on Nov. 11, Ole Miss mounted a 13-game win streak before their next loss against No. 7 Tennessee on Jan. 9.
- Shakira Austin has been named to the 2022 Lise Leslie Award Preseason watch List, 2022 midseason team for 2022 Jersey Mike’s Naismith Trophy for Women’s Player of the Year, and 2021-22 John R. Wooden Award late season top-20 watch list.
- The Rebels were named the NCAA and USBWA Team of the Week back on Jan. 25, after earning first ranking in the AP Poll for the first time in 15 years.
- Redshirt senior, Mimi Reed was selected to the WBCA So You Want to be a Coach program.
- Senior Angel Barker garnered Co-SEC Player of the Week honors on Dec. 28 for her 24 points off the bench against Texas Tech and being the leading scorer in the win against No.18 South Florida. It was the Rebels’ first win against a ranked non-conference opponent since 2007.
About the opponent: Florida
- Before traveling the the Music City, the Gators will face the No. 11/12 Tigers of LSU on Sunday.
- Florida is currently on a five-game winning streak which includes a season sweep of Auburn.
- With Feb. 10 victory over Mississippi State, Florida earned its first victory in Starkville since the 2013 season.
- Kiara Smith earned her second SEC Conference Player of the Week honor after a stellar performance against No. 7 Tennessee and No. 14 Georgia on Feb. 8. She is 15th all-time in school history with 1,412 career points. Smith was also named SEC Player of the Week on January 25 for performances against No. 11 LSU and No. 23 Kentucky.
- The Gators cracked the AP top-25 back on Feb. 7 for the first time since 2016 following a 54-51 win over then-No.14 Georgia.
- Freshman Alberte Rimdal earned her first SEC recognition on Jan. 18 as SEC Freshman of the Week following breakout performances against Auburn and Alabama.
- Back on Jan. 9, for the first time in program history the Gators earned a victory of the Texas A&M Aggies in College Station, overcoming a 19-point deficit in the third quarter to earn a 97-89 double overtime victory.
- It was announced on Jan. 7 that junior guard, Lavender Briggs will miss the reminder of the 2021-22 season due to a stress reaction in her lower leg.
Can’t Stop Cambridge
- The senior guard was named to the 2022 Naismith National Defensive Player of the Year watch list. Cambridge notched her third career double-double against UAlbany with 10 points and 10 steals, which tabbed her as No. 2 in program history for steals in a single game. She is currently 10 steals away from entering the top-10 in program history for career steals would tie Wendy Schlotens at 211 steals and is currently fourth in the record books for single season steals at 96 so far. She reached the 200 steal career mark against Kentucky on Thursday.

- In Division I women’s basketball the Commodores are 92nd in assists, 69th in rebounds, 11th in steals, 30th steals per game, 96th in turnover margins, and 50th in turnovers forced.
- Jordyn Cambridge is 216th in assist-to-turnover ratio, 70th in assists, 96th in assists per game, 150th in free throw attempts, 103rd in minutes played, 1st in steals, and 2nd steals per game.
- Brinae Alexander ranks 30th in field goal attempts, 53rd in field goals made, 184th in field goal percentage, 60th in final points, 30th in minutes played, 141st in points, per game, 106th in steals, 219th in steals per game, 112th in 3-pointers attempted, 93rd in 3-pointers made, and 185th in 3-pointers per game.
- Iyana Moore is ranked 87th in minutes played, 57th in 3-pointers attempted, 38th in 3-pointers made, 96th in 3-pointers per game, and 69th in 3-point field goal percentage.
Fresh Faces
- Sacha Washington was named Freshman of the Week on Feb. 8 setting career highs in points and rebounds for her fourth double-double this season against Alabama. Moore earned Co-Freshman of the Week back on Jan. 4 for her record setting performance.
- The freshmen quartet in Moore, De’Mauri Flournoy, Kendal Cheesman and Washington have combined for 596 points this season, 35.2 percent of the total points scored for Vanderbilt.

- Put the Commodores back in the win column after falling in five SEC games.
- Be back-to-back wins for the Commodores, building off the Feb. 9, 2020 victory inside Memorial Gymnasium, 63-47.
