Dream Center
Dream Center is a non-profit the soccer team worked with to provide food to families in need. They were able to visit local neighborhoods in small groups to deliver the food, play with the children and hold conversations with the people that received the food.
“It was extremely humbling because food is something that all of us take for granted,” Dorsey said. “The families that received the food were always incredibly grateful and it allowed the team to develop a new perspective on certain aspects of life.”
Room In The Inn
Dorsey volunteered at Room in The Inn the last two years. She’d visit Room in The Inn for a few hours once a week during the spring semesters and would either help the community development department with administrative work or serve lunch to their homeless population.
“I absolutely loved volunteering at Room in The Inn because I was able to connect with kind-hearted people that are normally subject to a negative stigma,” she said. “Room in The Inn was full of love and I was able to build on new relationships week after week.”
