The Vanderbilt track and field complex was recently resurfaced before the 2010 season and is located a few yards from Vanderbilt’s McGugin Athletic Center.
The complex played host to the finest student-athletes from the Southeastern Conference during the 2005 SEC Outdoor Championships.
The athletes discovered one of the finest running surfaces in the Southeast and superb field facilities that allow upclose viewing from the public, all part of a $1.7 million renovation completed in late 2003.
The complex features a Mondo synthetic track and jump surface, similar to the Olympic venues. The venue also includes a Mondo D-Curve for the javelin and high jump, two containment areas for the discus and hammer throws, and a water element for the steeplechase. The eight-lane track also features a thick, cushioned subsurface ideal for training.
