Edwards Named CSC Academic All-District

Junior earns recognition for second-straight season

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Vanderbilt men’s basketball junior Jason Edwards was selected to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team and named a finalist for Academic All-America. The award marks the second consecutive season Edwards has garnered Academic All-District recognition.

The 2024-25 Academic All-District® Men’s Basketball teams recognize the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes men’s basketball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

Edwards averaged 17 points per game in helping the Commodores return to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2017. He is majoring in medicine, health and society at Vanderbilt and all Academic All-District honorees have at least a 3.50 GPA. Edwards is the first Vanderbilt student-athlete to earn Academic All-District since 2022-23 when Liam Robbins was selected.

Edwards was also named a finalist for Academic All-America. He will advance to the national ballot voted on by CSC members with first-, second- and third-team Academic All-America honorees announced April 15.
