INDIANAPOLIS, IN—Two Vanderbilt bowlers are in the top ten percent of bowlers in the Under-20 division after the second day of the Junior Gold Tournament, regarded by many as the premier junior event in the nation.
Sophomore Kasey Eaton of Wyoming, Mich., was 37th with an average of 189.38 and incoming freshman Adel Wahner of Las Cruces, N.M., was 56th at 185.88 in the tightly bunched field of 792.
Two other Commodores were further down the leader board. Sophomore Jordan Newham is averaging 179 and freshman Bryanna Leyen was 132nd with a 178.38 average. The huge field competes in different venues and varying oil conditions over the long event, which helps account to the big swings in scores from day to day.
Gamine Mason of Cranston, R.I, leads the field with a 212.75 average. Bowl.com has complete standings.
