AT THE TIP
- Vanderbilt men’s basketball faces its stiffest test of the young season when the Dores host ACC debutant Cal on Wednesday night.
- The contest will stream on SEC Network+ and ESPN+ with Andrew Allegretta and Shan Foster on the call. Fans can also catch the game on 102.5 The Game with Kevin Ingram and Tim Thompson.
LAST TIME OUT
- The Commodores fought off a sluggish start to earn an 85-76 win over Southeast Missouri on Sunday afternoon.
- A cold shooting day saw the Dores connect on just three attempts from beyond the arc, but the Dores outscored SEMO 42-22 in the paint and hit 32-of-41 free throws to grab the win.
REBOUNDING MACHINE
- Through the opening week of the season, McGlockton leads the nation in rebounding at 16.0 boards per game.
- In Sunday’s contest with SEMO, McGlockton snagged a career-high 19 rebounds, the most by a Commodore since at least 1996-97.
- McGlockton has been especially impactful on the offensive glass where he also leads the country with 8.5 offensive boards per game.
- As a team, the Dores rank sixth nationally in rebounding, averaging 50.5 boards per game. Vandy is ninth on the offensive boards at 18.5 per contest.
FRESH TO IMPRESS
- Tyler Tanner leads all freshmen nationally with seven steals through two games.
- The rookie dropped nine points and added three steals in his collegiate debut.
- Tanner is the first Vanderbilt freshman to notch three steals in his debut since legendary defender Atiba Prater did so in 1996-97.
COMMODORES AT THE CHARITY
- Vanderbilt leads the SEC and ranks third nationally in free throws made per game, knocking down 27.0 freebies per contest.
- The Dores also lead the SEC and rank second nationally in free throw attempts, averaging 37 per game.
- Jason Edwards and McGlockton lead the Dores with 14 attempts each through two games.
SERIES HISTORY
