NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Liam Robbins and Tyrin Lawrence each finished with a double-double on Saturday to help lead Vanderbilt men’s basketball to a 74-71 win over Ole Miss at Memorial Gymnasium.
Robbins paced all players with 19 points and 12 rebounds, and Lawrence recorded 18 and 10, respectively, for the first double-double of his career as the Commodores improved to 11-12 overall and 4-6 in the SEC. Robbins was also credited with seven blocked shots, Quentin Millora-Brown added a season-best 10 points and five rebounds, and Myles Stute scored nine points as well for the Dores.
Ezra Manjon also had six points and seven assists, and Colin Smith scored seven for Vandy.
Jaemyn Brakefield finished with 15 points and 12 rebounds for the Rebels, who fell to 9-13 on the season including a 1-9 mark in SEC play. Myles Burns chipped in with 12 points and Matthew Murrell had 10.
In a game that neither team led by more than six through the first 38 minutes, the Dores took control with a 10-0 run after the final media timeout highlighted by 3-pointers from Trey Thomas and Stute. Vanderbilt limited Ole Miss to 37.5 percent shooting from the field, outscoring the Rebels 38-30 in the paint.
Vandy’s next game will be against No. 2 Tennessee Wednesday at 6 p.m. at Memorial Gymnasium.
